Vaccination are given to children to avoid various diseases or disorders such as polio, tuberculosis, hepatitis, viral fever, chicken pox, small pox, hepatitis A and B, pneumonia among others. Awareness and timelines of these vaccinations is usually given to the parents once the child is born. Developed and developing countries have almost resolved the problem of educating people on the importance of vaccination. However, there are still some under developed countries and even in developing countries some rural and tribal areas where they do not know the importance of such vaccines. Neither the vaccines are made available. Awareness and availability of such vaccines can help save their children.

Subsidized rates for vaccines which are expensive can help poor people to afford it. Public and private hospitals should take initiative to create awareness and in educating parents on different vaccinations and their timelines. Some of the vaccinations are expensive and hence it’s given as optional as it does not pose immediate threat to the life of the child.

But doctors usually do explain the availability of different vaccines and their costs. It’s left up to the parents to decide on the optional vaccinations for their children. Vaccination is also a must for adults. Certain vaccinations such as hepatitis A and B were made mandatory for adults as well. Though any person can take these vaccinations if they are having temperature or any other ailment its better to consult a doctor and then take the vaccination. Awareness and the importance of these vaccinations is the key.
